The year ends, a new year begins
Written as part of Amy Johnson Crow’s “52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks” challenge. This week’s theme: Future
I have skipped the last few of Amy’s prompts. Homemade: nothing I could think of despite the fact that I am working on a latch-hook rug for someone for her upcoming birthday. Lines: I’ve already done railways and shipping lines, and family lines seemed too boring. We were busy cancelling holiday plans so Holiday was a topic I wanted not to dwell on. But the last topic of the year (thank you Amy for all of them) is Future. I figure if I state here what I hope to achieve with this website in the next twelve months there’s a chance I can hold myself to it. So here goes.
Ancestor Profiles: I want to complete bios for everyone for whom there is enough (undefined) material. I want to review the ancestors in each line to see what I have and write up what I can from that, hopefully without spending too much time doing additional research. There are only 52 weeks in the year, I have lots more than 52 ancestors, and have other goals. SO I will aim to first examine each line to, identify the good candidates for more storytelling.
Ancestral Places: This is my other priority. I want a page on each of the main ancestral places that I know of in any detail. With photos. Hopton Castle and Berkshire are done but could be changed. Port of Monteith, Falkirk and Glasgow. Newcastle, Birmingham, Dorset. Get those all in order by the end of the year.
Reunion Update: as part of the profiles project, make sure that the latest versions are in Reunion, and review for any changes n data. Then do another upload.
If I get a good chunk of that done in weekly busts next year I will be a happy camper.
